Here’s a roundup of this week’s headlines from the data center and hosting industry:

Interxion selected by IPC. Interxion announced that IPC, a leading provider of trading communications solutions will locate its core Electronic Connectivity Services (ECS) infrastructure at Interxion's Financial Hubs  in London and Vienna. More than 200 cities across six continents are connected by IPC's network, which connect thousands of financial market participants worldwide.  "We’re expanding our network infrastructure to support our growing European customer base, and it makes sense for us to work with Interxion - a colocation data centre services provider with a pan-European footprint that can provide our customers with close proximity to all the major European markets," said Bryan Clarke, manager, Carrier and Exchange Relationships EMEA, IPC.

iomart Racks 4 Acres.  iomart Hosting launched the Racks 4 Acres campaign, aimed at raising awareness of the plight of the rainforest while at the same time providing a practical way of recognizing the impact that its own operations has on the internet. Through the charity Rainforest Concern they will sponsor an acre of Ecuadorian Cloud Forest for every additional megawatt of power it consumes in its five UK data centers.    Additionally they are enabling iomart customers to directly offset their own IT equipment's carbon emissions via their customer control panel.  "What appealed to me about the Racks 4 Acres campaign is how simple it is in its approach," Psaid eter Bennett, Director of Rainforest Concern. "The correlation between power consumption, carbon emissions and conservation is a vital element in the bigger climate change debate and this campaign makes that point effectively."

Peak 10 selected by SnapAV.  Peak 10 announced that it is providing their next-generation Cloud Plus environment to SnapAV, a manufacturer and supplier of more than 800 audio and video products for custom installation professionals. From the cloud solution Peak 10 will host SnapAV's mission-critical applications including its systems, applications and products and business to business commerce system. "Their speed and availability are of utmost importance to our customers and employees which is why we turned to Peak 10. Working with its team enables us to rapidly scale our technology infrastructure and ensure that our continued growth won’t come at the expense of efficiently serving our customers," said Jay Faison, CEO of SnapAV.
