MediaRich ECM for SharePoint Eases Access to, Use of Digital Content

SharePoint shops that need to more easily find, share and collaborate on digital assets should take a look at Equilibrium MediaRich ECM for SharePoint 5. The latest version improves performance and usability with the integration of the newly released MediaRich engine, featuring AV Core 2, and a 64-bit architecture designed to deliver faster ingestion and increased file-format support (including UHD and large files).

MediaRich ECM is designed to turn SharePoint into a "visual management platform." According to a press release, MediaRich ECM for SharePoint automatically creates the necessary files from any original video for instant in-line HTML5 browser and mobile device playback. The product also supports full-size video viewing--without the need for third-party plug-ins--to view video content from any device.

PDF-heavy workgroups will also appreciate the new UniZoom AEC functionality, which dynamically updates access to PDFs with relative linking (supports Adobe Acrobat or Bluebeam files) without the need to physically download the files. According to the company, this will enable users to view PDFs across multiple devices, with read-only capability over as little as a 4G network. This capability extends even to files that were previously difficult to download or view because of their size.
