To access special folders, you need to use special tools. The tool depends on the folder. To access and manipulate the Windows, System, and Temp folders, you need to use the GetSpecialFolder method of the FileSystemObject object. I covered this method in my January 2000 column. To access and manipulate other special folders such as Printers, Recycle Bin, and My Computer, you need to use the Shell Application Objects (SAO), a superset of the FileSystemObject object. I'll cover SAO in a future column.
