Infographic: Massively Massive Data Centers Being Massive

Ever wonder what's behind some of the largest Cloud services? For many, we have our own datacenters. Some we're very proud of, and some, not so much. I remember, back in the day, when a datacenter was just a super-cooled room full of floor-standing, tower servers. A company I worked for had 100's of offices in the U.S. and each one contained a "server room." In the server room at the office I worked at, we had over 20 servers, each providing a single function for the business. In the early to late 1990's those servers were all replaced with racks of blade servers that looked really impressive and futuristic. We were proud of it.
In December 2012, I was fortunate to be given a tour of the datacenter at the Texas Advanced Computing Center (TACC) during Dellworld 2012. It's amazing how datacenters have changed and how much larger they have become to accomodate our needs. Here's a photo of only a single row in the TACC.
So, yeah, with the Cloud consuming and storing huge amounts of our data, and that amount growing exponentially, one starts to wonder if the service providers are equipped to handle any more. The following Infographic gives an overview of the top 10 largest datacenters, along with which popular web services are sharing space in someone else's datacenter.
