Q: I exported a System Center Orchestrator runbook and want to remove the global counters, variables, etc. How can I clean up an exported runbook?

A: When a runbook is exported, the folder structure of the global settings are also exported even if no actual objects are exported—which causes the structure to be imported when the runbook is imported. To clean up the export, the best option is to download the Parse Orchestrator Export tool. You need to download both the ParseOrchestratorExport.exe and Orchestrator.Administration.dll files and save them in a folder. Run the ParseOrchestratorExport.exe tool, select the export runbook file, and select Parse. Then select Sanitize Export, which will remove all the unreferenced global settings and configurations. Click Yes in the confirmation dialog box to complete the process.
