A. To enable the option to show known file extensions, perform these steps:
Start the registry editor (regedit.exe).
Navigate to the HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionExplorerAdvanced registry subkey.
Double-click HideFileExt and set it to 0 to show known file extensions or 1 to hide them.
Click OK.
Close the registry editor.
