DontDisplayLastUserName setting is lost in upgrade from NT 4.0 to Windows 2000.

A. When you upgrade to Windows 2000 and select for the terminalservices component to be installed the DontDisplayLastUserName setting is resetto 0. To fix you will need to manually set back to 1

  1. Start the registry editor

  2. Move to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionpoliciessystem

  3. Double click dontdisplaylastusername

  4. Set to 1. Click OK

  5. Close the registry editor

Its actually been moved in 2000 as you may notice from the new registrylocation above.
