The modern organization is striving to break into the new digital market. This means deploying applications, workloads, databases, and resources which can support a digitized user. However, legacy is slowing this process - and introducing new levels of risk. Consider this, on April 12, 2016, Microsoft ended the life of SQL 2005. The product will still work, it just won't fix new flaws or exploits discovered. At best, platforms like Microsoft SQL Server 2005 has been relegated to simple report generation on noncritical data. But - there are some organizations who still have legacy applications, databases, and entire workloads in their ecosystem. With that in mind, there's good news and there’s bad news.

The good news is that if you're trying to migrate data alone - you may be able to do this pretty easily. Just make sure you don't store your data on the same server as the database app. The not so good news is if you have a lot of apps running on top of the database, your migration could take quite a bit longer. Furthermore, legacy applications and databases constrict business growth and can introduce security challenges into the environment.

The migration effort comes with the challenge of data dependencies, and how to control and migrate critical data repositories. This webinar will dive deeper into data migrations, take a look at how to make Microsoft SQL migrations and upgrades a lot more efficient, and look at how next-generation analytics can give you the critical details of your infrastructure environment. Specifically, we'll cover:

  • Major trends of your data center, data requirements, and application growth.

  • The dangers of staying on a legacy system, and the challenges of migration.

  • What you need to make a database, application, and data migrations smoother.

  • How mission-critical analytics provides real-time visibility of your Data Center infrastructure and reduces risk.
