Microsoft Certification Exams update to Windows 8.1 and Server 2012 R2 from January 2014

On a recent post on the Born to Learn blog (http://borntolearn.mslearn.net/btl/b/weblog/archive/2013/06/25/windows-8-1-server-2012-r2-system-center-2012-r2-and-certification-updates.aspx#fbid=vMDD_ttInks) Erika Cravens, a Product Manager on the Certification team at Microsoft Learning announced that in January 2014 the existing certification exams 70-410, 70-411 and 70-412 would be updated to include Windows Server 2012 R2 Content. Additionally the 70-687 and 70-688 exams would be updated to include Windows 8.1 content.

In April 2014 the MCSE Server Infrastructure exams 70-413 and 70-414 exams will be updated to include Windows Server 2012 R2 and System Center 2012 R2 content, as will the MCSE Private Cloud exams 70-246 and 70-247.

If you’re currently studying for your Microsoft certifications, you’ve got quite a few months before the changes apply. Even if you were starting out on your Windows Server 2012 MCSA today, you’ll probably be finished by January 2014.
