Microsoft's Completes Azure Integration with Workday, Offers Public Preview

Described officially, Workday, Inc. is an on‑demand human capital management and financial management software vendor, but as a service, Workday the app, is Cloud-based HR and finance software. Founded by ex-PeopleSoft officials in 2005, Workday is a direct competitor to PeopleSoft and SAP. While PeopleSoft and SAP run on-premises, Workday is a pure Cloud solution.

Today, Microsoft is introducing inbound user provisioning for Workday. Stating that the integration work is now complete, Workday users can use Cloud-based Azure AD to authenticate directly back to the corporate network.

Workday inbound user provisioning is different from the way other services work. In addition to single sign-on capability, user and group data contained in Workday Human Capital Management can now be imported directly into the Azure AD directory.

A public preview is available today and Microsoft has made available a tutorial to get started:
