Microsoft Azure Machine Learning Moves Predictive Analytics into the Cloud

Microsoft continues to rapidly evolve its Azure platform. On June 16, 2014, Microsoft announced their new Azure Machine Learning offering. Machine learning applies historical data to a problem by creating a model and using it to predict future behavior or trends.

In the past, machine learning was primary implemented by using on-premise equipment along with the expertise of data scientists. The new Microsoft Azure Machine Learning (ML) is a cloud service that enables organizations to build predictive analytic solutions.

Turn Analytic Data Into Cloud Services

Microsoft Azure ML will provide customers with visual workflows and startup templates that will help them to getting started using the new machine learning. The ability to publish APIs and Web services allows customers to turn their analytic data into cloud services.

MAX451 is previewing Azure ML with the ecommerce data to predict future purchases while OSISoft is using it to help Carnegie Mellon University to diagnose energy output for campus buildings. Microsoft Azure ML will go into preview in July 2014.
