John Savill's Latest Book Release: Mastering Microsoft Azure Infrastructure Services

If you've not yet taken a dip into Microsoft's IaaS technologies, or have already but desperately want to be considered an expert in the field, John Savill's new book, Mastering Microsoft Azure Infrastructure Services, has just released.

At 384 pages, the Sybex-published book comes in both paperback and Kindle versions, and offers the full depth of knowledge needed to implement and manage Azure technologies. Here's what the book covers:

  • Understanding costs, options, and cost savings of IaaS

  • Customizing VM storage and using virtual networks

  • Enabling external and on-premises connectivity

  • Extending AD to Azure and Azure AD

  • Setting up replication, backup, and disaster recovery

  • Customizing Azure templates

  • Managing hybrid environments

  • Using additional Azure services

  • Implementing and maintaining your Azure plan

Additionally, there's a free Windows 8.1 companion app designed to extend your knowledge by supplying a bunch of Azure videos, links, and code samples. The app isn't tied to the book purchase and is free for everyone, however, the app and book combined give you the complete picture.

The book is available from Amazon, and the app can be downloaded and installed from the Windows app store. Here's the links…

The paperback book:  Mastering Microsoft Azure Infrastructure Services

The Kindle version: Mastering Microsoft Azure Infrastructure Services

The app: Mastering Azure IaaS

John is a prolific WindowsITPro author, covering Azure topics and concepts regularly. Sift through our Azure section and you'll find John provides the majority of the excellent coverage. John is an 11-time MVP, a Private Cloud and Server Infrastructure 2012 MCSE, and a VMware Certified Professional 5. He’s also ITIL certified and a CISSP.

BTW: John is also delivering a couple sessions at IT/Dev Connections 2015. One on Azure IaaS and the other on Windows Server vNext Clustering. I'm betting that if you bring the book along, John will be more than happy to sign it.
