UPDATED: Time Warner Cable Outage Across the Entire United States
Connection to the Internet is down for many this morning.
August 27, 2014
It's never going to be a good day when you wake up and the Internet is out. That was the case for me, and the multitude of customers signed-up to use Time Warner Cable (TWC) services. It's amazing how reliant we all are to a simple connection to the Internet. My day definitely started out differently, and now feel like I'm severely behind in work.
For me, the outage was apparent for the first couple hours of my first waking moments, but has since come back online. For many, the TWC's connection is still down. Both consumers and businesses alike utilize TWC, and the incident is being reported nationwide.
There's no indication yet of what the problem could be, when it actually started, or when it the service will be fully restored. TWC took to Twitter to make the announcement:
We're working to restore services to all areas as quickly as possible; no ETR. Tweets will be delayed while this is addressed.

If you're a TWC customer and still experiencing issues, just hold on a bit. What do you think the issue is? Hack? Fat-thumb admin?
UPDATE: TWC has now issued a statement blaming the outage on "routine maintenance":
“At 430am ET this morning during our routine network maintenance, an issue with our Internet backbone created disruption with our Internet and On Demand services. As of 6am ET services were largely restored as updates continue to bring all customers back online.”
So, yeah. Fat-thumb admin.
