Another Costly Typing Error at DreamHost update from March 2008
DreamHost was offline Friday night due to a typing error involving a primary router, the company says.

Thousands of web sites hosted at DreamHost were offline Friday night for more than an hour. Here's the explanation:
Due to a typing error on our primary router while trying to block a denial of service attack, DreamHost is currently offline. This includes all email, web hosting, etc. A technician is about 15 minutes out from our datacenter to undo this mistake. I apologize for this mistake. I was intending to be editing our non-live access-list, and edited the live one by mistake.
Back on Jan. 15 DreamHost overbilled customers by $7.5 million when the co-founder typed "2008" instead of 2007 in the company's billing software.
