Windows Azure VMs Get a 22% Price Cut

In a blog post today, Scott Gu has announced that Microsoft is reducing prices by up to 22% on Virtual Machines running in Windows Azure. The new prices target those VM instances that are memory-intensive, meaning VMs that require larger memory consumption such as databases, analytics and even Cloud-hosted SharePoint. The prices are specific to A5, A6, and A7 instances and include Windows Server, Linux, and Cloud Services platforms.

Scott provided a table to show examples of what the new pricing structure looks like:

The new prices will take effect in November 2013.
