Windows 10 Preview Build for HTC Windows Phone is a Thing
Today marks the release of the first Windows 10 Mobile build that includes non-Lumia handsets.

Earlier today, I noted that an update to the Windows Phone Recovery Tool could supply a hint that Microsoft could deliver its first non-Lumia Windows 10 Mobile build this week. That hint has now turned into a real-world fact.
Just a short while ago, Microsoft released the hounds, making build 10080 of the Windows Technical Preview for phones available to the Fast Ring Windows Insiders. Included in that lot is the HTC One (M8) for Windows.
I know a lot of you are rejoicing, but remember, these builds are pure beta. So, keep the latest version of the Windows Phone Recovery Tool handy, and don't blame Microsoft when things go awry. They're just delivering what you asked for.
If you're an HTC handset owner the most current recovery utility is a requirement. You can get it HERE.
Additionally, if you're a Verizon customer you should know that HTC One (M8) users with phones sitting at version 8.10.15143.154 won't be offered today's update just yet. This actually shouldn't be too many Verizon customers, since the carrier just delivered GDR2 OTA overnight, which means the phone is probably sitting at version 8.10.14129.341.
Full information about what's included in this build and also the gotchas to watch out for, are located in Gabe Aul's blog post: Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 10080 for phone now available
