I'm constantly on the lookout for good resources concerning performance tuning and troubleshooting on SQL Server.  In all honesty, though, I didn't think we would see anything for SQL Server 2005 until well into 2006.  Boy, was I wrong!

Some of the top talent in the Microsoft SQL Server engine team and customer service team have teamed up to write an truly excellent white paper on troubleshooting performance for SQL Server 2005.  The authors include Sunil Agarwal, Boris Baryshnikov, Tom Davidson, Keith Elmore, Denzil Ribeiro, and Juergen Thomas.  I've had the pleasure of working with Sunil and Tom in the past and can tell that these guys really know their stuff! You can find the article at: http://download.microsoft.com/download/1/3/4/134644fd-05ad-4ee8-8b5a-0aed1c18a31e/TShootPerfProbs.doc

Let me know what you think.

Cheers!
