Diogenes Torres, a guest lecturer with the Data Warehouse Institute, will speak at Hart-Hanks’ Forum2000 user conference, slated for June 4-7 in Boston. An internationally recognized data warehouse implementation process expert, Torres will speak about use of the Trillium Software Software System, from Hart-Hanks’ Trillium Software division, in a distributed computing environment, focusing on how Trillium fits in with COM/Distributed COM and Common Object Request Broker Architecture (CORBA) environments to address e-commerce, customer relationship management (CRM), and data warehousing markets.“Distributing computing environments is an important topic of discussion because of the emergence of the Internet as the predominant means of conducting business, both from business to business and business to consumer,” says Torres. “Transactions can originate from any place and at any time, and businesses need to capitalize on the data. Companies can only make informed business decisions with valid data, and Trillium assures that the data is consistent and accurate.”Torres has more than 20 years of experience in data warehousing, online transaction processing (OLTP), and system architecture. Implementing multiplatform systems worldwide, Torres formerly worked at Digital Equipment Corporation, where he managed the architecture and systems engineering organization for the OLTP group, and at Migration Software, where he managed data warehousing project implementation.
