Over the course of my career I’ve worked for both big and well known companies like Intel and Texas Instruments, and small and not so well known companies like Advaiya and Platform Vision. I’ve just made what is, for me, a very natural step to the next phase in my career.
I’m pleased to say I’ve joined Penton Media (the parent company of Windows IT Pro) as Technical Director for their IT-related properties. That means Windows IT Pro Magazine, SQL Server Magazine, SharePoint Pro Connections Magazine, and the Connections conferences. In this role I’ll be advising the editorial staff on a range of technical subjects and representing the magazine at conferences throughout the year. I’ll continue to post to the AD Troubleshooting blog and write directory service-related articles, but I’ll also be looking at the challenges around cloud computing in general and cloud identity / security in particular. And if that isn’t enough, additionally I’ll be writing a monthly column about identity issues from the enterprise to the cloud.
I’m really tickled to assume this role. It combines learning about a range of new technologies, writing and speaking about them to all kinds of people, and influencing such a prominent and well-respected collection of magazines and websites. What could be more fun than that?
