Surface Team to host Reddit AMA today

It has become a bit of a tradition for the Surface team to get on Reddit and conduct an AMA, or Ask Me Anything, session shortly after a new piece of hardware has been unveiled.

The Surface 3’s announcement earlier this week will now join those ranks as that Reddit AMA is scheduled for 11AM PDT/2PM EDT today (Friday, 03 April 2015). Click here to see the timing in your part of the world.

The Surface Team’s Reddit account is located at http://www.reddit.com/user/SurfaceTeam and this should be the same place they hold today’s Reddit AMA.

That page is also the best way to follow an AMA in my opinion as it will show the answers to those questions the team provides replies to and not the entire stream of questions being thrown at them. You can also access the main Reddit AMA page to watch for the session later today.

One thing I can almost certainly guarantee will be asked in today’s AMA – Can I have one?

During the Surface Pro 3 AMA last year a lucky fan asked that very question and Panos Panay sent them a Surface Pro 3. Of course, after that many others asked but only the first person received a free device.

Who knows what could happen today.

Do you have any questions left unanswered after this week’s blitz of information on the new device?

But, wait...there's probably more so be sure to follow me on Twitter and Google+.

I served for 29 plus years in the U.S. Navy and retired as a Master Chief Petty Officer in November 2011. My work background in the Navy was telecommunications related so my hobby of computers fit well with what I did for the Navy. I consider myself a tech geek and enjoy most things in that arena.

My first website – AnotherWin95.com – came online in 1995. Back then I used GeoCities Web Hosting for it and WindowsObserver.com is the result of the work I have done on that site since 1995.

In January 2010 my community contributions were recognized by Microsoft when I received my first Most Valuable Professional (MVP) Award for the Windows Operating System. Since then I have been renewed as a Microsoft MVP each subsequent year since that initial award. I am also a member of the inaugural group of Windows Insider MVPs which began in 2016.

I previously hosted the Observed Tech PODCAST for 10 years and 317 episodes and now host a new podcast called Faith, Tech, and Space.

I began contributing to Penton Technology websites in January 2015 and in April 2017 I was hired as the Senior Content Producer for Penton Technology which is now Informa Tech. In that role, I contribute to ITPro Today and cover operating systems, enterprise technology, and productivity.
