Problem: When using an entity picker on an InfoPath2010 form, the textbox populates with the ID of the selected value. Instead, you want to display a user-friendly value. How do you do this?
For this Q&A we’ll be using the second value from the picker in Figure 1:
When the second value is selected the page is populated with the ID, which you can see in Figure 2:
Solution: To display more user-friendly text to the user, in InfoPath Designer 2010, specify the Finder Name and Display Name properties in the External Item Picker properties for the entity picker, which Figure 3:
After republishing the form, the page will display the user-friendly text, which you can see in Figure 4.
