A: Microsoft has made a site available that is used to test connectivity for Microsoft Outlook 2007 auto-discovery, 2003 Remote Procedure Call over HTTP (RPC over HTTP), ActiveSync auto-discovery, ActiveSync connectivity, and SMTP email.

The tool prompts for the server name of your organization along with credentials (username and password), then performs the connectivity/discovery test. (See the screen below.) Any credentials given aren't stored on this web site and are instead stored in your local computer's memory cache and only transmitted when required.
