Q: Can I use the Windows Time service for applications that require accuracy within a second?

A:The Windows Time service that is part of the Windows OS is designed to ensure systems are time-synchronized enough for Kerberos authentication to work,and for basic time synchronization as outlined at this Microsoft webpage

This time synchronization doesn't ensure time issynchronized within a couple of seconds, which some applications require, and is therefore not suitable for them.

If you require synchronization withina second or two, then you should use third-party time synchronization solutions such as those listed at the NIST site
