The Patching Day that never ends.

Released on September 10, 2013 along with the latest round of recent problem patches, KB2589275 is reportedly breaking file associations for Windows 7 users running Office 2010.

Oxford SBS Guy has suggested a couple fixes including manually recreating the file associations, and a post to the Microsoft Community forums talks about running an Office repair.

 

Here's quick summary (with links) for this month's patching woes…

Several Microsoft Office patches had to be re-released to fix installation detection issues that caused the updates to be offered over and over.

KB2817630 was pulled from distribution when it was identified that installation caused the Folder Pane in Outlook 2013 to show as blank.
