Microsoft announced the availability of Microsoft Baseline Security Analyzer (MBSA) 1.1, software that provides a method of identifying common security misconfigurations. MBSA, which runs on Windows XP and Windows 2000 systems, can scan for security holes in multiple Microsoft products including SQL Server 2000 and 7.0. The newest release adds several enhancements, including the ability to scan multiple SQL Server instances.
