In a bid to educate consumers about the many devices and services that are compatible with Windows Media Player and Windows-based PCs, Microsoft has launched a new PlaysForSure logo, which will adorn such products. The idea behind the logo is that choosing the Windows Media Player platform is a win-win for consumers, because they can choose between—and mix and match among—dozens of compatible online services, hundreds of portable devices, and many home-networking-based products (e.g., digital audio receivers), all of which are totally interoperable. PlayForSure's obvious dig is toward Apple, which offers one only service—Apple iTunes—and only one portable device—the iPod. Frankly, if you're interested in choice, and you should be, PlaysForSure makes a lot of sense
