ZD Net UK is reporting that Microsoft will upload the first public beta of Internet Explorer this Monday.

"We're certainly aiming for the end of March but we reserve the right to implement a feature or make something better," according to Jeremy Gittins, Internet platforms marketing manager. "It may be the end of the night on Monday but you can bet your bottom dollar our programmers will be burning the midnight oil to get it up there. Around May we will be posting a beta and we aim to ship the full product around the middle of the year."

Is it true? Only time will tell, but given the rabid quality of thepostings in the public IE4 newsgroup on msnews.microsoft.com, I certainlyhope so
