Learning to Deploy Windows 8.1 the Right Way

Just released, Microsoft has put together a 4 module series for building and deploying Windows 8.1 images. Called the "Windows 8.1 Deployment Jump Start," the series identifies the available tools for image creation and deployment and then digs into the full process.

This Jumpstart covers all the deployment scenarios, from the most common to the obscure including bare metal, wipe-and-load, side-by-side, offline media, and even OEM pre-staging. The tools covered include the Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT), and System Center Configuration Manager 2012 R2.

Of particular interest, you get to hear (and watch) the original code writer for MDT, Michael Niehaus, Johan Arwidmark (IT/Dev Connections 2013 and 2014 speaker) and the "Deployment Bunny" himself, Mikael Nystrom.

This is a hugely valuable session and since its part of Microsoft Virtual Academy you earn points for completing each module and receive a certificate of completion.

This new Jumpstart can be accessed here: Windows 8.1 Deployment Jump Start
