IT Innovators: Building a Foundation for the Future
The Microsoft Build Developer Conference is just around the corner. Will you be there?
April 25, 2015
There are many ways to gauge the relevance of something in today’s society. If it’s a mobile phone app, for example, that gauge might be the number of times it was downloaded. If it’s an event or conference, it might just be how long it actually took to sell out.
By that standard, the upcoming Microsoft Build Developer Conference is proving itself to be an extremely important event for any developer these days. It sold out in less than an hour.
Build 2015 will take place in San Francisco at the Moscone Center on April 29 – May 1. It promises to treat developers to a range of new information on Microsoft’s Windows, Azure and Office 365 platforms, among others. Developers will also receive in-depth training on these platforms, and in particular, on Windows 10.
Just as exciting, developers will learn more about Microsoft’s HoloLens, the first holographic computer running Windows 10. With the Microsoft HoloLens, users can see the world in a new way by pinning holograms in their physical environment and, it’s completely untethered, with no wires, phones or connection to a PC required.
All of that may be great for developers lucky enough to make it to the event. But what if you aren’t one of the lucky ones? Fortunately for you there are other options.
You can tune in to www.buildwindows.com to watch a live video stream of the event in the privacy of your own home or office. The live feed starts at 8:30 am sharp on Wednesday, April 29.
You can also catch Microsoft’s upcoming Build Tour, coming to one of 25 cities worldwide in May and June. (For tour dates and locations go to www.Build15.com.) This one day event, hosted by Microsoft Technical Evangelists and lead engineers from Redmond, will feature hands-on demos across devices, a deep dive into the Windows 10 developer platform for app and web developers, coding sessions, a Microsoft partner showcase, and an open Q&A with Microsoft engineers. Also on the agenda will be a roundup of key announcements and information presented at Build 2015. The event is free to all attendees. To attend you simply register online at www.build15.com.
Whether you’re attending Build 2015 in person, viewing it live via video stream or catching one of the upcoming Build Tour dates, you’ll have the opportunity to learn more about building on Microsoft’s platforms and gaining access to over 1.5 billion devices. Now that’s a great foundation on which to build your future as a developer.
