Part of an ongoing series, we're highlighting the excellent speakers we have handpicked to present phenomenal and extremely valuable content at the IT/Dev Connections conference.
Today's speaker highlight is the honorable and notorious Facebook foodie Jeff Gilbert.
Jeff Gilbert is a Senior Content Publishing Manager on the Enterprise Client Management Content Team responsible for the overall information experience for MDOP technologies. Previous to this role, Jeff was a senior technical writing lead on the Configuration Manager documentation team. Before joining Microsoft, Jeff's technical background includes working as a network and SMS 2.0/SMS 2003 administrator with the US Army.
Speaker's IT/Dev Connection sessions:
Recently, we asked Jeff to give us a little information about himself. Here's what he shared:
WITPRO: Give us a brief introduction to Jeff Gilbert.
Jeff: I’ve presented either an instructor-led lab or session at every MMS since 2006 and also spoke on my first trip to TechEd this year. Not my first time to Vegas, but the first time at the IT/Dev conference so looking forward to the new experience.
WITPRO: Describe the sessions you are presenting and why you feel the topic is important.
Jeff: The sessions I’m presenting at the conference this year will show IT Pro admins how to leverage Windows, System Center, and MDOP to support user centric computing. These sessions are timely because user centric computing and application and desktop virtualization are some of the latest trends affecting enterprises today.
WITPRO: What should attendees expect to be able to take away from your sessions?
Jeff: As enterprises begin moving from device-centric models to become more people-centric they need to be able to support users who depend on multiple devices on a daily basis to get their jobs done--and they want their data, applications, and settings to follow them wherever they go in the enterprise. That's exactly what my presentations will show you how to do.
WITPRO: What is your primary reason to be excited about IT Connections?
Jeff: It’s an opportunity for me to talk with a large group of admins, at a conference that is new to me, to more fully understand their needs and business problems. It’s also a great way for me to help spread the word about MDOP and how enterprises can benefit by that portfolio of products.
WITPRO: What is the one key technology you believe is changing IT right now?
Jeff: Windows Azure.
WITPRO: Who would you suggest Microsoft hire to replace Steve Ballmer as CEO?
Jeff: Someone who can get the stock price to rise!
