IT/Dev Connections was a wonderful event where attendees could actively participate in the sessions. During the Unified Device Management with System Center 2012 Configuration Manager and Windows Intune session, Kent Agerlund and I were asked a specific question about the full capabilities of DirSync. We were not clear how complete the DirSync tool is and promised to check into it and follow up.
The question was around how on-premise Active Directory information gets uploaded to Windows Intune, allowing internal information to be made available in the Cloud-based endpoint management application.
Kent sent me the following note this morning to clarify DirSync's full capabilities:
DirSync synchronizes all domains in your Active Directory forest with Microsoft Online. It will synchronize all users, and contacts/groups with email addresses. Port is 80 or 443.
So, there you have it.
