Help Populate Microsoft’s RDS Application Compatibility Clearinghouse
You know the problems some applications have with Microsoft’s Remote Desktop Services (formerly Terminal Services). You might have even figured out a few workarounds in your day, converting an incompatible app to one that works “good enough”. Why not share your experiences? That’s the idea with Microsoft’s new Community Verified Compatibility Center. The center is an interactive website that gives you the forum to submit experiences with all your software atop Remote Desktop Services. If ACT! version 11 works, rate it with a “Yes”. If one of your applications doesn’t rate it with a “No”. The center also provides a location for highlighting test steps and other workarounds. Sites like the Compatibility Center work wonders when they’re kept alive through community information. Conversely, they fail when no one submits their own experiences. So, if you’re an RDS administrator, consider adding this site to your regular rotation.
