Microsoft has just released an administrative tool for Enterprises seeking to get a better handle on Click-to-Run deployments for Office 2013.
Click-to-Run is a technology built into Office 2013 that provides streaming and virtualization technology to minimize the time required to download and use Office 2013 products. With the ability to manage Click-to-Run, administrators can limit the demand on the network during downloads and also prohibit users from installing Office 2013 products and add-ons over the Internet due to corporate security policies.
The new tool runs on Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows Server 2008 R2, and Windows Server 2012 and provides the following features:
Download an Office installation source to a network share location
Configure an installation to use a network share as the installation source instead of the Internet
Configure an installation to suppress all UI
Configure the logging for an installations
Configure whether Office will automatically update or not
Configure which products and languages to install
Remove Office Click-to-Run products
