A 2.2 release is often thought of as a minor release. However, expressor semantic data integration system 2.2 not only adds support for the latest SQL Server, Windows, and Internet Explorer (IE) versions (i.e., SQL Server 2008, Windows 7, Windows Server 2008, IE 8) but also includes major infrastructure improvements regarding performance, team development, and connectivity.
Expressor 2.2 is a parallel data processing solution that complements and integrates with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) to improve data integration performance. The new version offers an automatic semantic rationalization feature that lets you quickly access data to solve use-case problems in a more timely fashion. expressor said that this option is best for one-off data migration projects. It also offers new data-typing functionality with improved support for very large data values.
The latest version also offers object-level check in, which expressor software’s Vice President of Marketing Michael Waclawiczek said is important for large teams that want more granular control over what data can be checked in and out of the data repository. It also offers an updated security model that integrates more tightly with user authorization systems (e.g., Active Directory, LDAP, Kerberos) and improved metadata functionality (expressor’s metadata repository is now based on PostgreSQL).
A new connectivity framework lets expressor software more easily provide support for new data sources and targets. And its new in-SQL connector gives you the option of where you want data processing to take place, with support for deferring database processing back into the database. In addition, this version of expressor more tightly integrates with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) Control Flows via new integration scripts.
expressor 2.2 is licensed per channel (a unit of parallelism), and it starts at $5,000 per channel. You can learn more about expressor 2.2 by visiting www.expressor-software.com.
