Telerik recently released a new platform that lets developers choose between creating web, hybrid, or native applications for several different devices and form factors, ultimately allowing developers to choose an approach that's most suited to the needs of the organization or client.

Web and mobile development has become an increasingly complex and challenging process, where developers need to think carefully when choosing an approach that's the best fit for the end user.

Telerik stated in a recent interview that web development shouldn't be situated in terms of right or wrong development approaches. Instead, the company firmly backed the argument that developers should be empowered to choose the approach that best fits the needs of the organization.

And with Telerik's latest platform offering, it's all about choice. Not only can developers leverage their existing skill sets to create apps for iOS, Android, Windows Phone, Windows, and BlackBerry OSs, but they also have ample choice for different language options, where Telerik provides language support for .NET, JavaScript and HTML5, Java JSP, and PHP.

With more and more companies opting to hosted services, Telerik also lets developers use their cloud-based, end-to-end solution for collaboration, testing, and management needs. Developers can take advantage of Telerik's web-based IDE,  AppBuilder, or they can alternatively create apps with Visual Studio with the AppBuilder extension.

Developers can get started with the free Starter version, which is bundled with Telerik's JavaScript and HTML5 offering, Kendo UI mobile. Developers can also learn about the new platform in a webinar that takes place on February 12.
