Citrix, Keeping Up with Microsoft's Lump Releases, Unveils XenDesktop 7.1 on October 23, 2013

There has been some question whether or not Microsoft software partners can keep up with the new accelerated release schedules. Partners were generally comfortable with how slow Microsoft moved between major product releases. What used to be a slow methodical, controlled march, has now become the two-step jitterbug and there is worry that a lot of software partners will not be able to kee up.

Citrix is one software partner who believes they can follow Microsoft step-by-step. On October 23, 2013 Citrix will release XenDesktop 7.1 which brings support for Windows Server 2012 R2 and Windows 8.1. XenDesktop 7.0 was only released in June 2013 and now 7.1 is releasing to provide almost immediate support for Microsoft's new releases.

Citrix is offering a tech preview of XenDesktop 7.1 at the following link (a free Citrix user account is required):  XenDesktop Desktop and Apps Tech Preview
