Unlike Windows 2000 Server and Win2K Advanced Server, Win2K Professional doesn't come with the Microsoft Management Console (MMC) Active Directory Users and Computers snap-in. Thus, domain and organizational unit (OU) administrators can't manage Active Directory (AD) users, groups, or computers.

If you want to manage users, groups, or computers in Win2K Pro, you need to add the Active Directory Users and Computers snap-in. To do so, begin by copying the dsadmin.dll file from Win2K Server or Win2K AS to Win2K Pro. This file is in Win2K Server's or Win2K AS's %systemroot%system32 directory. After you copy the file, open a command-shell window, browse to the %systemroot%system32 directory, and enter

regsvr32 dsadmin.dll

Finally, start MMC and press Ctrl+M, then Alt+D. The Active Directory Users and Computers snap-in will appear in the resulting list.
