JSI Tip 2479. Access denied or target incorrect when attempting to connect to a computer in the Active Directory?

When you attempt to connect to another computer using the NET command, you may receive Error 5 Access is denied or Logon Failure: The target account is incorrect.

This is usually indicative of a duplicate computer account name in the enterprise.

To resolve the problem, locate and remove the duplicate computer account from Active Directory.

You must restart your client computer.
