No new hardware launch is ever perfect. It is even more challenging when you launch that new hardware running the latest Intel based Skylake chipset.
Early adopters of Microsoft's Surface Pro 4 and Surface Book have been plagued by regular display driver crashes since their release in October.
Microsoft's Answers Forum is littered with complaints about this and Joe from Microsoft has been actively spreading the good news of a fix being pushed out.
Hi all, We will be releasing a new driver sometime later today 12/2/15. For those that are seeing the following issue, this new driver will improve the situation. Display appears to hang, and then you will get a message that the display adapter has reset. Usually happens in certain scrolling situations on web pages. We are continuing to investigate the issues that you are all reporting. We are listening.
According to a later update in that same thread from Joe, the display driver should be at version 20.19.15.4326 after the new hardware drivers are installed.
This is a staggered roll out so not all devices will immediately receive the fix. Keep checking Windows Update for when it lands or else wait until it is automatically installed.
