When you use NTBackup to create an Automated System Recovery dataset, you receive:

The files for the recovery diskette could not be created. The operation was aborted.

If your computer contains Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 FTDisk sets, you will experience this behavior, because FTDisk sets are NOT supported on Windows Server 2003.

To fix this problem:

1. Install the Windows Server 2003 Support Tools from the SUPPORT folder of the CD-ROM.

2. Use Ftonline.exe to bring the FTDisk sets online.

3. Backup any data you wish to keep from the FTDisk sets.

4. Delete the FTDisk sets.

5. Use dynamic volumes to re-create them.

NOTE: See 303246 - Fault-Tolerant RAID Volumes or Volume Sets Displayed as "Failed" After You Install Windows XP.
