How do I enable/disable the Shutdown Event Tracker?

A. To control the use of the Shutdown Event Tracker, perform the following steps:

  1. Start regedit.exe.

  2. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionReliability.

  3. Double-click ShutdownReasonUI, and set it to 1 to enable or 0 to disable.

  4. Click OK.

  5. Close regedit.

You don't need to reboot for this change to take effect.
