Windows 10 Technical Preview build 10041 gets update for login screen issue

Update: The KB article link is now live.

Last week when Microsoft released build 10041 of the Windows 10 Technical Preview to Windows Insiders there was a laundry list of know issues with the Fast Ring build.

Well you can now mark one of them off the list with the release of a fix labeled Knowledge Base Article KB3050653 according to the Ring Master himself - Gabe Aul.

Unfortunately, the contents of the knowledge base article are not live yet but Gabe did mention in his tweet this is the remedy for those users who might not have the user name and password box appearing on the sign-in screen.

Although I have never saw this myself across any of my installs of Windows 10 build 10041 it is obviously impacting enough customers to warrant a fix this quickly after the builds release.

I am glad to see they are working to address those known issues as we continue to wring out build 10041.

Did any of you see this error and what is your overall impression with the latest build?

But, wait...there's probably more so be sure to follow me on Twitter and Google+.

My first website – AnotherWin95.com – came online in 1995. Back then I used GeoCities Web Hosting for it and WindowsObserver.com is the result of the work I have done on that site since 1995.

In January 2010 my community contributions were recognized by Microsoft when I received my first Most Valuable Professional (MVP) Award for the Windows Operating System. Since then I have been renewed as a Microsoft MVP each subsequent year since that initial award. I am also a member of the inaugural group of Windows Insider MVPs which began in 2016.

I began contributing to Penton Technology websites in January 2015 and in April 2017 I was hired as the Senior Content Producer for Penton Technology which is now Informa Tech. In that role, I contribute to ITPro Today and cover operating systems, enterprise technology, and productivity.
