Podio offers customizable business apps
New creation tool lets business users create their own take on business-apps, and a new online store provides access to hundreds of apps to customize

Podio is taking direct aim at the mobile business set with a new app creation platform and a new online store designed exclusively for business-related apps.
The Copenhangen-based company—which launched last fall and last month landed $4 million venture financing in a Series A round led by Sunstone Capital—has introduced App Builder, a simple-to-use online platform that lets users develop their own applications for business functions such as expense reporting. Podio has its own mobile app as well, available for both Android devices and iPhones, which gives business users access to App Builder on the go. Podio’s new App Store also offers more than 200 apps that users can customize further via App Builder.
Mashable comments on the ease-of-use factor of the Podio platform here:
From our limited testing, Podio works very well, but it’s too early to tell whether all its features are robust enough to really offer a solution that can adequately replace several other popular project management tools. If you’re looking for an all-in-one online work platform, though, Podio seems to be the best bet.
Podio is free for up to 10 users and costs $99 per month for up to 25 users. For developers, the release offers yet another example of an opportunity leveraged to adapt quickly to users’ varied and ever-changing needs for quick and easy apps.
