Some of the most demanding jobs are performed beyond workplace walls. First responders, police officers, hurricane researchers, construction managers, soldiers, power company crews, public safety officials—these are just a few of the workers who need a portable computing device strong enough to withstand harsh environments.

Rugged computers and tablets are also being deployed in education as well as field research, manufacturing, and other industries—keeping users productive in any environment. But what exactly do rugged devices offer that traditional notebooks and tablets lack? Join mobility expert James Martin to understand the differences between traditional and rugged devices. You’ll also learn about:

  • The most important features and specs to look for in a device for rugged environments

  • The ideal candidates for rugged devices

  • How to determine if rugged devices are right for your team or organization

In this session, experts from Technology Business Research and Dell will build on takeaways from James Martin’s session and will share analysis and insights from their custom research into rugged reliability. They will also be presenting an overview of the capabilities of various brands in the market.
