Skype for Windows Phone Updated with Location Sharing

Can you find me now?

Microsoft has released Skype 2.22 for Windows Phone 8 and 8.1 today. This major new version of the app adds location sharing, notification controls and more.

Skype 2.22 for Windows Phone 8.0 and 8.1 includes the following new features:

Location Sharing. Just tap the Add ("+") button in a chat and select "Share Location" to share your physical location with the people in the conversation, using Bing Maps. You can tap the inline map to view it full screen as well.

Notification controls for conversations. While in a chat, tap the More ("...") app bar button and then choose "Notifications" from the app bar menu to toggle notifications for that conversation on or off. This way, you will only be notified about incoming messages when you want to be.

Save Picture. You can now save photos others have shared with you. To do so, tap the image to enlarge it and then tap the More ("...") app button and select "Save photo" from the menu. Photos are of course saved to your Saved Photos folder.

If you're already using Skype, you should be auto-updated to the new version. Or you can install Skype for Windows Phone 8 and 8.1 from the Windows Phone Store.
