Xbox Music Field Guide 0.6

A few more steps forward

Here's another interim update to Xbox Music Field Guide, the second edition of what used to be called Paul Thurrott's Xbox Music. This update adds a number of new sections of content, but is still quite incomplete.

I had been hoping to wrap up this book a lot more quickly. But here it is almost a month past the last update and it's still not complete. I had also hoped to keep this book at roughly 100 pages, but with this update creaking up towards 80 pages, I can see that won't be possible either. But I'll keep plugging away.

Here's what's new in this release:

Windows Phone 8.1. This this one is quite forward-leaning in that it covers only the most recent platforms supported by Xbox Music, I've updated it to make sure the Windows Phone content reflects what's happening with the version of Xbox Music in Windows Phone 8.1. (The book also covers Xbox Music for Windows 8.1/RT 8.1, web, Android, iOS and Xbox One.

App tours. I finished up the app tours sections for Windows Phone, iOS/Android and Xbox.

Explore an album. This entire section is complete, covering all of the supported platforms.

So nothing profound, it seems. But another 17 pages or so of content.

More soon, I hope.

Note: I realized belatedly that the Table of Contents has a few errors in it. I'll get that fixed for the next update.
