Close up of the other side of the Micro USB charging cable. It has a visual indicator that a connection is made for charging just like the other Surface devices.

If you are used to looking at a Surface RT or Surface 2 then this screen will look more like a square than a rectangle because of the change from a ratio of 16:9 to 3:2. The 3:2 ratio is the same as the Surface Pro 3 and makes for a better experience in portrait mode.

The logo is a shiny silver color but all of the floor models looked like that had some scuffs and scratches on it. Might be out of the box that way from small shifts while shipping. That will be a shame because it is a beautiful logo and should be of a material that will not scuff up.

The view from the back of the Surface 3 with the Microsoft logo right in the middle of the kickstand. Underneath the kickstand on the tablet itself the name Microsoft is there along with the size of the devices storage.

This table was on the right as I entered the store and is opposite the Surface Pro 3 table. Prime retail real estate.

Surface 3 in the first kick stand position and this is the same as the Surface 2's first kick stand position.

Surface 3 in the second kick stand position. It is the same angle as the Surface 2's second position.

Another angle of that shiny, albeit scuffed up, Microsoft logo.

Another shot of the 3:2 ratio screen of the Surface 3.
Surface 3 Visit
Surface 3 in its dock accessory. As you can see the Surface pen has a spot (magnetic) where it can be stored. The Surface Pro 3 dock has something similar.

Close up of the only connections, Mini Display Port and USB 3.0, the dock makes to the Surface 3. There is no Micro USB connection as the charging passes through the USB 3.0 port instead.
Note: My apologies for the poor focus on this one.
A view of the side of the Surface 3 dock. The two USB ports on the side are 3.0.

A back view of the Surface 3 dock which shows a headphone/speaker jack, two USB 2.0 ports, a network port and a Mini Display Port.

This is the cover of the brochure being handed to customers so they can compare and make some notes about which Surface they might get.
I scanned it in for this gallery because it gives a great idea of the size difference between Surface 3 and Surface Pro 3 in relation to how tall the devices are.
