Updated: Turns out these apps are available for Amazon Fire OS devices too, which is a surprise. That means Kindle Fire HD and Fire HDX tablets and Fire Phone.
Microsoft this morning released MSN News, Sports, Money, Health & Fitness, Food & Drink and Weather mobile apps for iPhone, iPad, Android handsets and tablets, and FireOS-based handsets and tablets. These high-quality apps were previously exclusive to Windows Phone and Windows 8+, and they represent another step in Microsoft's commitment to embrace the "mobile first, cloud first" world.

As you may recall, Microsoft announced in September that it was rebranding its excellent Bing content apps to MSN and, more egregiously for some, would bring them to iPhone, iPad and Android. Since then, it released MSN-branded versions of these apps on both Windows 8.x and Windows Phone, and launched a redesigned version of the MSN web site with deep integration with MSN apps such as News, Sports, Heath & Fitness, Money, Travel, Weather, and Food & Drink, and links to favorite services such as Outlook.com, Office, OneNote, OneDrive, Skype, Facebook and Twitter.
At that time, Microsoft committed to delivering the MSN apps on Android and iOS by the end of the year, so I've naturally been wondering in recent days when (or if) this would happen. But the wait is over, so enjoy! And the addition of Amazon Fire OS to the ranks is obviously an interesting surprise.
