Halo 5: LIVE Launch Celebration Part of Microsoft’s NYC Store Launch

If you happen to be in the area of Fifth Avenue and 53rd in NYC today, you might want to stop by the new Microsoft flagship store that is opening today.

In the making for six years, the five-floor, 22,369 square-foot store opens its doors at noon ET today. Celebrities from Microsoft will be on hand. Microsoft’s Chief Operating Officer Kevin Turner will be in attendance for the inaugural ribbon-cutting ceremony and joined by Microsoft’s Corporate Vice President of Devices Panos Panay.

Additionally, some prominent local figures will be available. New York City’s Deputy Mayor for Strategic Policy Richard Buery and New York City’s Chief Technology Officer Minerva Tantoco will take part in the ribbon cutting ceremony and then the day after launch (October 27), the Microsoft Flagship Store will host New York Jets Quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick and Running Back Chris Ivory for the Microsoft devices launch. Lines open at 5 p.m. and the event starts at 6 p.m. ET.

If you miss the ribbon cutting ceremony, you’ll definitely want to add 9 pm ET to your schedule. The store will host a midnight celebration of Halo 5. Fans and special guests get early hands-on with the game, access to giveaways, food and more. Fans will also have the chance to win a trip for two to Seattle for an exclusive tour of Xbox and 343 Industries, creators of the Halo franchise.

Supersite’s good friend, Mary Jo Foley took a sneak peek tour of the new store location and provides some details in Sneak peek: Microsoft's first flagship store poised to open October 26 in New York City.
