Microsoft Dashboard Updated to Accommodate December Band Update and to Share Workouts

I’m off this week, but couldn’t help letting you all know that the Microsoft Health Dashboard has now been updated to usher in a couple completed updates from last week’s December Band 2 firmware.

The first feature you’ll notice in the Dashboard is that it now finally reflects your chosen Exercise category. I went back to a recently recorded activity and found that the fix is retroactive. Now, when you select the Exercise type on your Band, it will show up as that specific exercise in the Dashboard.

The other piece is something that Microsoft failed to announce had secretly tucked away in the firmware update documentation. This new feature is the ability to share your custom, self-created workouts with others – either by auto-generated link or through email.

Now at the top of your custom workouts, there’s a “Share” option in the menu. Clicking on it brings up options for sharing with a link or using email.

Here's what the email looks like if you receive one:

The link takes you to a "Shared" version of the workout where you can Copy it (to modify it to create your own or save it to your own workouts), Favorite it, or Sync it to your Band.
